Smart Circulation for Schools

Library•Solution for Schools includes TLC's LS2 Circ, which combines core circulation functionality with the convenience of a Web-based product. There's no need to install anything before deploying LS2 Circ at the circulation desk, library workstations, or anywhere else with Internet access.

LS2 Circ features a user-friendly interface with colorful themes ("skins") that you can easily change. Minimal training is required to use LS2 Circ, making it easy for staff and even student helpers to operate.

Students have a choice of two self-checkout methods. They can check out materials by scanning their barcodes, scanning the items, and then scanning the "clear screen" barcode, or they can select their teacher's picture, then choose their own picture from the class list to proceed.

Need to request 15 copies of a title from across the district? Simply place a hold request and enter the number of copies needed. LS2 Circ determines where the copies are available and sends requests to the appropriate schools.

LS2 Circ provides four district-defined, configurable tabs providing links to Web applications. Tabs offer easy access to your school district's OPAC, TLC's Reports Manager, Internet search engines like Google or Yahoo, or any other site. Standards-compliant sites will maintain their view when you switch between tabs, so you can easily move back and forth between different applications.

Other helpful features include:

• Hold requests - Staff can easily place a request for the first available copy, or limit a hold request to specific schools or even specific copies
• Custom borrower fields - Keep track of a student's class schedule, parents or guardians, and other related data
